Several Jordanians are coming to the United Arab Emirates to work, study, and live, as the country offers a safe and secure environment for individuals and families. However, applying for a UAE visa may require you to submit legal documents to confirm your identity and education credentials.
Attestation is the process of legalizing documents to verify their authenticity. The certification process may differ from country to country because some countries are members of the Hague Convention (Apostille Countries), so they only need Apostille attestation to apply for visas and jobs. The UAE and Jordan are not members of the said convention, so expats must follow a certain procedure.
Employers may ask for your attested degree certificate or any educational document with authentication when applying for employment visas abroad. The institutions may ask for your legalized birth certificates for applying to universities or schools.
Suppose you are a Jordanian resident in the UAE and need to sponsor your family with a UAE family visa. You must process the birth certificate attestation of your children and marriage certificate authentication.
The first attestation step in most countries is from their Foreign Affairs Departments. This is to ensure that the documents of individuals are authentic before putting their legalization seal or stamp on them.
Once you have the authentication from MOFA Jordan, you can submit your documents to any consulate or embassy in the country.
After the Jordan MOFA Attestation, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Jordan will accept your documents for authentication. The consular officers will put stamps on your document as proof of authenticity.
This step is required by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE for the final legalization process. With the UAE consulate stamps, MOFA UAE will accept your documents for legalization.
