India Consulate in Dubai

The Consulate General of India in Dubai is the main mission for Indian nationals across Dubai and the northern emirates. Since 22 July 2026, routine passport, visa and attestation applications are handled at the new Indian Consular Application Centres — not at the consulate itself. Benchmark handles the separate job of getting Indian documents attested for use in the UAE, end to end from our Oud Metha office.

About the Consulate General of India in Dubai

The Consulate General of India in Dubai is India's official mission for the northern emirates, serving the large Indian community living and working across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and the rest of the region. It is located at Al Hamriya, Diplomatic Enclave (P.O. Box 737, Dubai), near the Dubai Frame, and works Monday to Friday.

The consulate looks after diplomatic relations, community welfare and emergency support for Indian nationals. It no longer takes routine public applications over the counter. As of 22 July 2026, passport, visa and attestation services are provided at 16 Indian Consular Application Centres across the UAE, not at the consulate premises. So for most day-to-day paperwork, the centres — not the consulate building — are where you go.

The new ICAC system (from 22 July 2026)

This is the part most people miss, so it is worth stating plainly. From 22 July 2026, the Government of India outsourced passport, visa, attestation and other consular services in the UAE to Al Hind Tours & Travels, delivered through 16 Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) across all seven emirates.

A few things you need to know:

  • Book online first. Appointments are made at consularsevainuae.com, with fresh slots released daily at 9am and 9pm.
  • Centre hours. All ICACs open 8am to 6pm, and entry is allowed only 15 minutes before your appointment time.
  • Fees. There is an AED 19 service charge (inclusive of VAT) on top of the Government of India fees, covering form filling, photos, typing, printouts, photocopies and domestic courier. Always check the current breakdown on the official portal.
  • Walk-ins. No appointment is needed for Tatkal passport applications, newborn registrations, Emergency Certificates and senior citizens aged 60 and above, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Use only the official portal for bookings. With the system this new, be careful of anyone claiming to guarantee faster consular appointments.

Indian documents Benchmark attests for use in the UAE

This is where Benchmark fits in, and it is a different job from a consular application. If you have an Indian document that needs to be accepted by a UAE authority — an employer, a university, a court or a government department — it has to be attested through the correct legal chain inside India and then by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

Benchmark coordinates that full chain end to end, so you never have to post originals yourself:

  • Degree certificates, diploma mark sheets, school transfer and equivalency letters
  • Birth, marriage and single-status certificates
  • Police Clearance Certificates and personal affidavits
  • Powers of Attorney, board resolutions, trade licences and commercial documents

The route runs through the issuing state (HRD, Home Department or SDM), the Ministry of External Affairs in India, and the UAE attestation step. Since September 2025 the UAE Embassy and MOFA steps are issued together digitally inside India, which has removed one of the slower stages. We pre-check every document, confirm the exact route, and return the attested original by tracked pickup and delivery across the UAE.

When you still deal with the consulate or a centre yourself

Some things are personal consular acts that only you can do. Passport renewals, fresh Indian visas, PCC applications, Emergency Certificates and birth or marriage registrations now go through an ICAC by appointment. Attestation of UAE-issued documents for use in India is also handled through the same centres.

Benchmark can prepare and check your paperwork so your appointment goes smoothly, but the official submission for these personal services stays with you at the centre. We will always tell you honestly which parts we can run for you and which parts you need to do in person — no false promises.

Why families and businesses use Benchmark

Since 2013 our team has handled tens of thousands of Indian documents for people moving to the UAE and for HR teams onboarding new staff. That experience matters. We know which state HRDs are slow, which universities only reply to physical letters, and which documents a UAE authority will reject on sight — so you get a realistic timeline the first time, not after a rejection.

Our pricing is transparent. Government fees, service fees and courier are quoted separately, in writing, before you commit. You get a single point of contact over WhatsApp, real status updates, and secure handling of your original certificate throughout. With the consular system changing this month, having someone who tracks these updates for you removes a lot of the guesswork.

No. Since 22 July 2026 these services are handled at Indian Consular Application Centres run by Al Hind, booked through consularsevainuae.com. The consulate itself now focuses on diplomatic and emergency matters.

Yes. We manage the full attestation chain — the issuing state, the Ministry of External Affairs in India, the UAE Embassy step and MOFA in the UAE — and return the attested original to your door.

For personal consular acts like passport renewal or a PCC, yes, by appointment at an ICAC (walk-ins for Tatkal, newborn, Emergency Certificate and seniors 60+). For attestation of Indian documents for UAE use, Benchmark handles it for you.

It depends on the document type and the issuing state in India. Send us a clear scan and we will confirm the exact route and a realistic timeline in writing.
